Adolfho Romero is a second-year Ph.D. student in the Department of Global Labor and Work at Cornell University’s Industrial and Labor Relations School. His research explores how cities mediate migrant precarity through labor institutions, with particular attention to the role of worker centers and nonprofits in advancing dignity, leadership, and collective power, as well as their contributions to broader social movements.

Prior to his doctoral studies, Romero served as Assistant Director at the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program at the University of Florida, where he directed research projects, managed grants, and coordinated fieldwork across the state. Romero holds an M.A. in Latin American Studies with a specialization in Latinx Studies, Migration, and Transnational Studies from the University of Florida. His master’s research examined the Farmworkers Association of Florida and the role of nonprofit organizations in supporting immigrant communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.
