Radhika Moral is a sixth-year Ph.D. candidate in Anthropology at Brown University whose research explores agrarian and ecological transformations within silk-farming (sericulture) communities in Northeast India. Her project examines how a seasonal plantation economy is being reshaped through efforts to sustainably scale up production amid ongoing environmental shifts and the shrinking habitats of silkworms. More broadly, her study traces how a living heritage commodity becomes a technoscientific laboratory for managing climate uncertainty—revealing how these experiments in sustainability reconfigure land relations, labor, and value in an agrarian landscape.
